Tina Bhutani, MD, MAS, FAAD, discusses new data presented at the 2026 American Academy of Dermatology annual meeting for the treatment of generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP). Interleukin-36 inhibition showed significant efficacy in the open-label extension EFFISAYIL ON (NCT03886246) clinical trial showing 75% of patients treated experienced 0 flare-ups over 3 years. She discusses the mental burden patients with GPP experience during a flare up, but noted using an intravenous loading dose has provided complete clearance in pustulation during a flare as soon as 1 week after treatment.
